Audiological Evaluations

Your hearing exam includes the following steps:

  1. Gather personal information and identify specific environments where you may be experiencing difficulty hearing.
  2. Otoscopic exam to take a look in your ear canal to visualize the eardrum and rule out any obstruction.
  3. Middle ear measurement to check the flexibility of your eardrum and middle ear system.
  4. Booth testing under headphones to identify the softest sound that you can hear.
  5. Speech testing to check your ability to understand and repeat words. Sometimes this is done in noise too.

There may be some special testing your audiologist would like to complete, but all of this will be discussed with you beforehand. You will be well informed during the process.

Diagnostic Hearing Evaluations

Audiologic Solutions has a strong philosophy regarding verifying and validating your use of amplification. We use functional tests and also special measurement techniques using Audioscan in order to provide speech mapping on our patients.

Real ear measurement is considered a gold standard in hearing instrument fittings. It is a means of providing precise verification and measurement of hearing instruments and fitting outcomes.

While we use these measures to verify outcomes, there is no substitute for the most important thing: your opinion. Every patient is unique, your perceptions about amplification will be unique too. We utilize the best combination of science and art to create a custom, personalized amplification fitting.

Custom Ear Plugs/Hearing Protection

We provide custom hearing protection for musicians and music fans. It doesn't matter whether you're a performer, studio engineer, or concert goer, we have the hearing protection solutions for you.
