The First Truly Invisible Rechargeable Hearing Aid is Here

For years, people seeking a discreet hearing aid faced an uncomfortable trade-off. The smaller the device, the more features you had to give up — no rechargeability, limited connectivity, and reduced sound processing power. The new Oticon Zeal changes that equation entirely.
Oticon calls Zeal the world's most discreet, complete hearing aid, and it represents a genuinely new category they refer to as "NXT" — a flexible-fit in-the-ear style that sits nearly invisible in the ear canal without the limitations that have historically come with small devices. We're excited to offer Zeal at all four of our locations, with a same-day fitting option available.
Traditional completely-in-canal (CIC) hearing aids have always required compromises. They typically couldn't be rechargeable, struggled with wireless connectivity, and lacked the processing power of larger devices. Zeal solves these problems through a manufacturing approach Oticon calls micro-encapsulation — the electronics are fully enclosed in a hardened protective material with no hollow spaces inside, similar to how resin preserves objects in amber. This makes the device more compact, more durable, and moisture-resistant to IP68 standards, all while creating enough space for a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
The result is a hearing aid that delivers up to 20 hours of battery life on a single charge, with a quick-charge option that gives you four hours of use from just 15 minutes of charging.
Zeal is powered by Oticon's Sirius chip and second-generation Deep Neural Network (DNN 2.0) — the same advanced platform behind the Oticon Intent. This always-on AI processes sound continuously throughout the day, trained on a diverse range of real-world sound environments to reduce background noise while keeping speech clear and natural.
Oticon's BrainHearing technology is at the core of how Zeal works. Rather than isolating one voice and filtering everything else out, it gives the brain access to the full sound scene — the way hearing naturally works — so the brain can do its job with less effort. In clinical measurements, Zeal delivers up to 6 dB of signal-to-noise ratio improvement and has been shown to outperform several competing products in speech-in-noise testing.
Zeal includes Bluetooth LE Audio, allowing direct streaming from iOS and Android devices, hands-free calling, and access to Auracast — the emerging broadcast audio standard that lets you connect to compatible sound systems in theaters, airports, places of worship, and other public venues. The unique wrap-around antenna that gives Zeal its distinctive look also serves as its Bluetooth antenna, maintaining reliable skin contact for a stable connection.
The Oticon Companion app allows for on-the-fly adjustments to volume, treble, bass, and program settings directly from a smartphone.
One of the most practical advantages of Zeal is its fitting flexibility. It can be fit the same day using domes — the same domes used with the Oticon Intent — making it an option for patients who don't want to wait for a custom-molded device. For those who prefer or require a more customized fit, micro-molds are also available. Oticon reports that Zeal fits comfortably with a dome in approximately two out of three people. Once fitted, the flexible antenna naturally conforms to the shape of the ear within about a day of wear.
In terms of visibility, Zeal is not visible or only slightly visible in the vast majority of properly fitted ears — making it a genuinely discreet option for people who have been hesitant to pursue hearing aids.
Zeal is appropriate for mild to moderately-severe hearing loss with instant-fit domes, and can extend into the low-severe range with custom micro-molds, depending on individual hearing loss configuration.
